It’s been a few months since I wrote my post about seasonal goals.
Summer was pretty bleh and I wasn’t quite in the right headspace to make goals or achieve those goals.
But no worries, now I’m back and better than ever and am ready to make the most out of the last few months of 2018!
My falls goals revolve around setting myself up for success as we transition into 2019 (what!!!!) and having a successful fall semester (last one of undergrad!!!!).
As always, I’ll be following the template I shared with you in my seasonal goals post and you can follow along with your own free download HERE.
I’m tired of fucking around with these bills, y’all.
There’s nothing more that I love than a clean slate, which is what my goal is going into 2019.
Goal #1: Finish the year debt free
I really only have two debts that I need to pay off with one of them being under a thousand and the other being over (LOL).
The first bill I plan on splitting into three payments.
The second bill I plan on doing what any self-serving privileged girl would do… I’m going to call my fucking parents. Judge away, it’s fine. 🤣
Goal #2: Start saving for my big move
I have some major moves planned for after graduation that I’m not too comfortable sharing yet.
What I will share is that it’s going to cost moneyyyyy.
So as resident mega planner and over analyzer, I’ve got a well thought out estimate of how much I’d like to save by the time I graduate and the earlier I start the better.
This is my last year of undergrad!! 🙌🏾
I’ll be graduating with my bachelor’s degree in social work this May!
I’m super, duper stoked and want to make my last fall semester of undergrad a great one.
I have three major goals that I need to achieve before the end of the fall semester because deadlines.
Goal #1: Finish the fall 2018 semester with a 4.0
I’ve done it before and I’ll do it again.
I’m taking 21 credit hours this semester, with six of those credit hours being my practicum. So six classes, a full schedule.
I thrive under a busy schedule, so I’m confident in my ability to handle this full course load. Whenever I have too much time on my hands, I oddly have trouble getting shit done. Whenever I have a packed schedule, I just find it easier to organize my time and I guess knowing that I only have a limited amount of time and a touchy schedule that can’t be moved around forces me to not procrastinate. Weirdo, I know.
All a 4.0 takes is time management, commitment to quality work, and taking good notes in class.
I got dis 💪🏽
Goal #2: Be approved to graduate in May 2019
This goal relies on me busting my ass to find an approved internship before school starts. I have one interview set-up and an interested practicum site in my inbox, so fingers crossed one of them pans out into something concrete! 🤞🏽
Goal #3: Apply to graduate schools
Grad school is definitely on the menu for me. I’ve narrowed down a few programs I want to apply to and it all hinges on getting approved to graduate in May.
Grad school apps are expensive and expansive, meaning it will definitely take a decent amount of my time and money to fill out and submit.
Curse supplemental essays.
At least, I’m trying to. Hence why I’m really focusing on my CAREER and getting that degree.
No one can dance forever. Plan accordingly.
Goal #1: Secure an internship for the year
I have an interview coming up with a sex education and sex therapy agency that I’m soooooooo excited and nervous for!
Being able to merge social work and sexual empowerment together is my literal dream so I really hope this opportunity works out.
Securing this internship would be the second step in creating my own career in women and sexual empowerment (the first being this blog)!
So y’all better be sending me all the positive vibes! As always I’m sending positive vibes your way regardless. 😘
Goal #2: Focus more on Half & Bad
To me, this mainly looks like posting more regularly and building the community around this blog up.
I am so passionate about everything I write about and I can’t wait to share more of that passion with you gyals!!
Self Care Goals
Self care is going to be SO important this fall as my packed schedule and upcoming graduation is going to stress me tf out.
I’ve touched on this in my post about creating healthy habits as I transition into adulthood, so my self care goals are really just revolving around making sure I am happy and healthy during this semester.
Goal #1: Focus on establishing healthy habits
Fueling my mind and my body is the number one thing on my self care agenda this fall!
I am focused on providing my body with the necessary nutrients it needs to thrive and doing the same for my mind!
Healthy foods! Getting active! Journaling!
Check out some of my other healthy habits to get some inspiration.
Goal #2: Take advantage of my health insurance
I’m lucky enough to have health insurance, so I need to use it!
I’m in the mood to switch birth control methods, as well as making sure my body is just generally healthy.
I can’t do any of that without going to see my doctor. Which means I’ll have to be a big girl and make my own appointments. 😩
Since I have a lot on my plate this semester, I’m not really focusing much on any ~domestic duties~ I may have.
Goal #1: Finish furnishing my home
I am almost done (!!!), but there’s still a few things I’d like to pick up for my home.
I just finished my living room after buying a new couch and an accent chair. My bedroom is pretty much done sans a dresser that I have plans to get in the beginning of semester. After that it’s just a few decorations and I’ll be all done!!
Making a house a home is a process, whew.
Treat Yo’ Self
Not much going on here (thanks financial obligations 😒), but treating yourself is something I strongly believe in.
Goal #1: Add to wardrobe
I do plan on doing some back to school outfit shopping. I have no plans to go overboard though.
Welp. Those are my goals for fall 2018.
I have high hopes for the end of 2018 and I encourage you to make your own goals for the season! There’s still time to make 2018 a year of accomplishments and personal growth, if you haven’t already.
Let’s end the year on a high note!
